About Us
A Different Kind of Senior Living Advisor
Ed McAvoy, Founder
My name is Ed McAvoy, founder of My Senior Living Team.
My background is somewhat unique in the senior living industry.
I served for 28 years in the United States Army Medical Service Corps, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. During my military career, I worked alongside healthcare professionals and leaders responsible for caring for service members and their families.
I also earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology, giving me valuable insight into family dynamics, stress, aging, and the emotional challenges that often accompany major life transitions.
In addition, I have extensive experience helping families understand the financial realities of long-term care, including private pay options, long-term care insurance, Medicare limitations, and other funding resources.
This combination of healthcare, psychology, and long-term care planning allows me to support families from a broader perspective than simply finding an available community.

Why I Choose to Help Seniors and Their Families
This is an Important Work
Over the years, I’ve seen how difficult senior care decisions can be for families. These decisions are rarely just about finding a place to live—they involve questions about safety, independence, finances, family relationships, and quality of life.
I founded My Senior Living Team because I wanted families to have a trusted guide during these important moments. Every family deserves someone who will listen carefully, provide honest guidance, and help them make informed decisions without pressure.
My Core Philosophy
“I believe every senior deserves to be in the right place, at the right time, for the right reasons—and that no family should have to navigate that journey alone. I am here to be their guide from the very beginning, and I stay with them every step of the way.”
